Physiotherapy can provide services for clients with conditions involving:

• Musculoskeletal: e.g. Back, Neck and Joint problems (acute or long term
• Neurological: e.g. balance problems or other deficits following a Stroke
• Cardiothoracic: e.g. for breathing or lung conditions or post cardiac surgery.

The physiotherapist is a consultant for the “Strength Training Program” being run at Kyneton Sporting Complex, providing education sessions and assessments for participants requiring individual treatment. The physiotherapist also provides education for the Heartsmart, Live Well Be Well Stay Well and Diabetes Education Programs.

PHYSIOTHERAPY FOR CHILDREN

Children are either seen at Cobaw Community Health (if a physiotherapy issue only) or via our multidisciplinary Children’s Assessment Clinic (for developmental delay), which is held once a week during school terms.

HOW TO ACCESS PHYSIOTHERAPY SERVICES

People can refer themselves or be referred by another agency.
You do not need a doctor’s referral to see the physiotherapist but it helps to have a clear indication of medical investigations that have already been done.

FEES

Fees are income dependent  and range from $7.50-$11-50 per session or as negotiated with your practitioner. 

AQUATIC PHYSIOTHERAPY

Cobaw Community Health offers aquatic physiotherapy for people with musculo-skeletal problems which exclude them from undertaking physical activity. The program is also available to people recovering from surgery. This water-based program runs for 6-7 weeks at the Gisborne Aquatice Centre. This is not a water exercise or aerobics program, and is for high therapy need clients only.

The program requires a pre-program assessment by one of the Physiotherapists, and a physical activity clearance from your GP, which will be supplied on enquiry.

There is one program per term with limited numbers. Sessions run on Wednesdays at 1.30, 2.15 and 3.00pm.

Cost is $5.00 per session or as negotiated if you are under financial stress.
